Keynote speakers
David Blanchflower (London)
David Blanchflower was appointed the Bruce V. Rauner Professor of Economics in 2001 at Dartmouth College. From 2006 - 2009 he was a Member of the Monetary Policy Committee at the Bank of England. In the Daily Telegraph Great Britons of 2008 awards David was named 'Business person of the year.'
He is also currently a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA and a Research Fellow at both CESifo at the Centre for Economic Studies at the University of Munich in Germany and The Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA) at the University of Bonn in Germany.
David has served on a commission of three foreign experts appointed by the government of Sweden to examine the workings of the Swedish labor market. He has given evidence on a number of occasions to committees in both the House of Commons and the the House of Lords as well as to the Congressional Budget Office Panel of Economic Advisers, House and Senate Committees in the State of Maryland and the Chicago City Council.
Norbert Walter (Zurich, Frankfurt)
Professor Walter is the former Chief Economist of Deutsche Bank Group and Head of Deutsche Bank Research. At Deutsche Bank he led the economic analysis section of Germany's largest commercial bank and was responsible for their globally integrated approach to economic research. Norbert Walter is now the Managing Director of his own company, Walter & Daughters Consult.
Tito Boeri (Milan)
Tito Boeri is professor of economics at Bocconi University, Milan and Scientific Director of the Fondazione Rodolfo Debenedetti (www.frdb.org). His papers have been published on the American Economic Review, the Journal of Economic Perspectives, the Economic Journal, the Journal of the European Economic Association, Economic Policy, the European Economic Review, the Journal of Labour Economics, the Journal of Development Economics and the NBER Macroeconomics Annual. He published 11 books with Oxford University Press, MIT Press and Princeton University Press. He has been consultant to the Imf, the EC, the OECD, the World Bank and the International Labor Organization. He is the founder of the economic policy watchdog website www.lavoce.info and the scientific director of the Festival of Economics in Trento.
